What Time Will Michael Mmoh Play Against Casper Ruud?
Mmoh and Ruud are on the Day 4 Schedule at Dallas Open 2025 on Thursday 6 February 2025. Lets breakdown the career, past stats and recent form of these players and predict who will get the victory.
Who Will Win In This Head-To-Head?
Michael Mmoh of the USA and Casper Ruud of Norway are set to face each other for the first time at the tour level. They previously met at the 16 U.S.A. F10 tournament on a hard court, where Mmoh emerged victorious with a 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-1 scoreline.
Mmoh, aged 27, is currently ranked at No. 422 in the world and achieved a career-high ranking of No. 81. In 2025, he has a 1-0 win-loss record, reaching the second round in Dallas. His performance at the 2023 US Open as a wildcard was noteworthy, where he made it to the third round and prevented his compatriot, Isner, from continuing his singles career by saving a match point in the second round.
Throughout his career, Mmoh has secured some significant victories. He defeated Alexander Zverev, who was ranked No. 13 at the time, at the 2023 Australian Open to reach the third round as a lucky loser. In the same year, he also defeated No. 12 Auger-Aliassime at Wimbledon and No. 11 Khachanov at the US Open, marking the biggest win of his career on the way to the third round. Mmoh had a slow start to his career, going 0-7 initially, but he bounced back by reaching his first ATP Tour quarterfinal as a qualifier in Brisbane in 2018. He also broke into the Top 100 in October 2018 after winning back-to-back Challenger titles.
In his junior career, Mmoh had an impressive record of 127-48 on the ITF Junior Circuit from 2011-2015. He competed in 23 countries, on 6 continents, and participated in 9 Grand Slam events. Notably, he defeated future Top-5 ATP players Rublev and Tsitsipas during this time.
It is worth mentioning that Mmoh is seeking the biggest win of his career and currently holds a 0-5 record against Top 10 opponents. If he were to win, it would be his sixth ATP Tour quarterfinal and his first since 2024 Houston. Additionally, he would become the lowest-ranked player to defeat a Top-5 player since No. 690 J. Johansson defeated No. 2 Nadal in 2006 Stockholm, reaching his first quarterfinal above the ATP 250 level.
Casper Ruud, aged 26, holds the current world ranking of No. 5, which is his career-high. He rose from No. 7 to No. 2 after reaching the final of the 2022 US Open, narrowly missing out on the No. 1 ranking as he lost to Alcaraz.

Ruud has accomplished several milestones in Norwegian tennis history. He became the first Norwegian to win an ATP Tour title, with a total of 12 titles to his name. He has also played at the Nitto ATP Finals, reaching the semifinals in 2021 and the final in 2022. In addition, he has reached the finals of both the Roland Garros (2022-2023) and the US Open (2023), as well as an ATP Masters 1000 final in Miami (2022) and Monte-Carlo (2024).
A notable achievement for Ruud was his sweep of clay-court titles at Bastad, Gstaad, and Kitzbuhel in July 2021. This made him the first player since Andy Murray in 2011 to win three titles in consecutive weeks.
Since the start of the 2020 season, Ruud has been a force on clay courts. He leads the ATP Tour in clay-court wins, finals, and titles, with 116 wins, 16 finals, and 11 titles. His most significant title to date came at the 2024 Barcelona Open.
A memorable moment for Ruud came when he defeated the World No. 1, Djokovic, en route to the final of the 2024 ATP Masters 1000 Monte-Carlo.
In this tournament, Ruud defeated Duckworth in the first round, becoming the second Norwegian to win a match in tournament history after his father, Christian, in 1999 (although his father lost to Chang in the quarterfinals). However, it is worth noting that Ruud has had some recent struggles, losing two of his last three matches to players outside the Top 100, including defeats on indoor hard courts to No. 159 Rocha in the 2024 Davis Cup and No. 124 Bonzi at the 2024 Metz tournament.
