In a heartbreaking blow to the Seattle Kraken, forward Jordan Eberle will be sidelined for a minimum of three months following a pelvis surgery that took place on Friday. This devastating news comes after Eberle sustained an injury during a game against the Chicago Blackhawks on November 14th, where he had to exit the ice just seconds into the second period after a collision with Blackhawks’ defenseman Connor Murphy sent him crashing into the end boards.
The 34-year-old veteran, who serves as the captain for the Kraken, had been a key player for the team this season, contributing a total of 11 points with six goals and five assists in the 17 games he has played so far. However, Eberle has been forced to sit out of the past three games as a result of his injury.
Despite this setback, the Kraken, who currently hold a record of 10-9-1, are gearing up to face off against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. The team will have to dig deep and find ways to fill the void left by Eberle’s absence as they strive to secure a victory in their upcoming match.
In the words of Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol, “Jordan is a huge part of our team both on and off the ice, and his presence will certainly be missed. However, we have full confidence in the rest of our players to step up and continue to push forward in his absence.”
Eberle’s teammates have also expressed their support for him during this difficult time. Defenseman Mark Giordano remarked, “Jordan is a warrior and we know he will come back stronger than ever. We will do everything in our power to keep pushing forward and make him proud.”
As the Kraken navigate through this challenging period without one of their key players, the team remains focused on staying competitive and determined to overcome obstacles as they aim to make their mark in the NHL. The road ahead may be tough, but with resilience and unity, the Kraken are prepared to face whatever challenges come their way.
